Ok. So, I was reading an article by Michael Rosenberg on FoxSports.com on the Mets getting Johan Santana.
Came across this little gem of information...
[The Yankees] 2007 payroll was $218.3 million. Some perspective: that is more than the combined payrolls of the Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres. The Yankees will spend more on the left side of their infield than Florida or Tampa Bay will spend on their entire major-league rosters.
I'm sorry, what? I knew that the Yankees had an outrageous amount of money, but I don't think I had any idea it was that bad.
Two words. SALARY. CAP. Pronto-like.

mike. we all know it's impossible to impress dennis.
yes. i like baseball. and i really hate the yankees. and i think there should be a salary cap in all major league sports. and the more i learn about it, i have way more respect for teams like the indians who can't simply throw money at the "problem" and create a dream team. the good news is, the yankees have done exactly that the past few years and failed.
thats the truth. ive been trying to impress dennis for YEARS. we cant all just turn on the charm and attract any man in the universe, like mike can.
and i too hate the yankees.

it's my understanding baseball does have a salary cap of sorts, but the big offenders/spenders are more than willing to pay the fines (tax).
and the yankees do suck. and should be hated. but, some of those little spender teams ought to get kicked in the ass because the owners are often unwilling to spend money, to bring in talent.
and i used to speak french, but most of my knowledge has slipped.
mike...i had no idea. when you say that's why you're here--do you mean "here" as in, my blog? or do you mean "here" in the more existential sense, like here on EARTH to flatter me?
